The Little Car Company - Baby Bugatti ll/DB5 Junior Price: POA

Last Updated On: 25/03/2024

The Little Car Company hand-build reduced sized replicas of two iconic automobile classics, the Bugatti Type 35 and the Aston Martin DB5 Volante. They are marketed as the Baby Bugatti ll and the DB5 Junior and can be enjoyed by enthusiast of all ages. These two electrically-powered models have been developed and produced with the full co-operation of both Bugatti and Aston Martin.

Baby Bugatti ll

In 1926, Ettore Bugatti built a mini replica of a Bugatti Type 35 for his son. Now, in celebration of Bugatti’s 110th Anniversary, the Baby has been re-imagined and remastered for the modern age with just 500 limited-edition cars being made. This car, that brought Automobiles Ettore Bugatti to fame in the 1920s, is generally acknowledged as the most successful racing car of all time.

Unlike the original, which was only suitable for the youngest drivers, the Baby ll is a three-quarters-size replica of the Bugatti Type 35 so it can be driven by adults as well as the younger enthusiast. The Baby ll has been created using the latest technology, but with the utmost respect for Bugatti's automotive heritage. The car was designed with the aid of a precise digital scan of an original Type 35, built for the 1924 French Grand Prix in Lyon.

Just like the original car, the Baby ll has a rear-wheel drive electric powertrain but, unlike its predecessor, the Baby ll features removable lithium-ion battery packs and even regenerative braking. It will come with two selectable power modes for drivers of different statures: 1KW 'novice mode' with the top speed limited to 20km/h (12.4mph), and a 4KW 'expert mode'  with the top speed limited to 45km/h (28mph). In addition, an optional 'speed key' is available, which allows power up to 10KW and disengages the speed limiter.

DB5 Junior/Vantage Junior

Arguably the most famous car in the world, the iconic DB5 has firmly secured its place in automotive history.

Hand-crafted to allow the love of driving to be shared across generations, the Aston Martin DB5 Junior will be built to 66% scale of the original and will feature a rear-wheel drive, fully electric powertrain and multiple driving modes. Just like the original, only 1,059 of the models will be made, providing a rare opportunity for fans of the marque to own a piece of history.

As an official Aston Martin model, the DB5 Junior will pay homage to the rich history of the brand. Each of the limited-edition vehicles produced will feature classic Aston Martin badges, Silver Birch paintwork, Smiths instruments, individually numbered chassis plates, a full leather interior in a range of colours, mahogany and aluminium steering wheel, opening and closing bonnet/boot, four-wheel disc brakes and a hydraulic handbrake.

In tribute to Aston Martin’s more recent technological advances, the DB5 Junior will include swappable lithium-ion battery packs and regenerative braking. A Vantage Junior model will also be offered. Costing more than the standard Junior it will have its power increased from 5kW/6.7 bhp to 10kW/13.4 bhp and feature two additional driving modes, 'Competition' and 'Vantage'.
